Summer 2010 catch up!

So because we didn't have the intranet for so long I decided that I should just give a recap of the last year.

So here are some fun pictures of what we did over the summer.

My Mom, my sister Jennifer and I did a lot of canning over the summer. We love to get together and spend the day together.

So as may of you know Kent and I welcomed another Beautiful baby girl into our family in May of 2010. Maci Grace Burton was born on May 12, 2010 weighing in at 5lb 12oz 21 1/2 in long. She had beautiful thick dark hair. For those of you who don't know the story of her birth here it is. Maci was due in the June 20th my pregnancy was going well but my Doctor was keeping a close eye on me because Lexi was 5 week early. So around the 20th of March I was about 25 weeks I was put on bed rest because I was having contractions and going into preterm labor and I was dilated to a 2 1/2 I was on bed rest for 7 weeks and going to Dr Appts 1-2 times a week. During those 7 weeks I continued to contract and dilate the medication the Dr gave me wasn't working. On May 11 I went to my Dr Apt and I was having contractions that day ( I cant really feel my contractions so I don't always know when I am having one my belly just gets really tight) but i had contractions every day but these ones just felt different, so I told the Dr that something about today's contractions just felt different. So he checked me and i was dialated to a 5 1/2, 1/2 a cm more that 3 day earlier so he gave me some meds to help stop the contractions and put me on a monitor and watched the contractions. A hour later he came in and said that the med weren't working and that Kent needed to take me right to IMC hospital to be put on in hospital bed rest. My Dr is at the Riverton Hospital but they cant deliver babies that are earlier than 35 weeks and i was only 32 so he had to send me there. Kent drove me to IMC and got me all checked into Labor and Delivery it was about 1:00 pm, they gave me some more meds but through a IV but I was still having contractions and they weren't slowing down so they upped the dose at about 12:30 am they got the contractions to calm down and they sent me up to the maternity ward to be on bed rest for a week. When I woke up that morning the High Risk Dr they had assigned me to came in and checked me and said that I hadn't progressed at all over night and that he thought that I could go home on Friday. But I just didn't feel good they brought me my breakfast and I just felt sick to my stomach and couldnt eat and I thought I was having contractions, so I called the nurse in and told her I thought that I was contracting and so they brought a monitor up and watched me, but they couldn't see anything. A hour later the resident came up to see me and I told her I didn't fill well and that I was having contractions, she told me she had been watching me and that I wasn't having contractions but that she would check me just in case. The next thing I knew my bed was being unplugged from the wall and I was being wheeled down to labor and delivery, when we got down there the resident told me that I was dilated to a 7 1/2 and that I needed to call Kent and tell him to get here. When Kent arrived they broke my water called the Dr and wheeled me into the OR so they could pass Maci right into the NICU. Maci was delivered so fast that the Dr didn't make it they didn't have time to take the bottom of the bed off , which was a good thing because they didn't even have time to catch Maci and she shot out like a rocket and landed on the end of the bed. I'm Back

I know I know it has been forever, but we haven't had the Internet for a very long time and it was just to hard to go out to my parents house every time I wanted to post something. Good news we now have the Internet so I can start posting again. The last time that I posted anything was just after we brought Maci home from the hospital and she will be Two in May. WOW A lot has happened in between then and now. So I guess i will just sum that last year and a half up in few quick posts.

I know it's been forever so here is a up date!

I know i know it has been forever. Kent and I got rid of the internet because we both have it on our phones so we figured that because we never used it we would get rid of it. ( i forgot that i needed to update my blog) so I can only update it when I am at my parents house. So where did i leave off in my last post? Oh Ya we had just found out that we were having a Girl. WOW it really has bee a long time. So sence then I got put on bedrest in the first of May because of premature labor, I was dialated to a five and was only 28 weeks along. After being on bedrest for five weeks I delivered a beautiful little girl Maci Grace Burton at 33 weeks ( two months early). Because she came so early we had a two and a half week NICU stay at IMC hospital in Murry. We have really enjoyed having Maci as part of our family, Lexi really loves being a BIG sister, she is always hugging and kissing her.

We blessed Maci on the 4th of July it was so wonderful to have all of our friends and family in town to celebrate our new daughter with us.

Maci started to show signs of a cold about a week ago and her eyes started to get really gooped up so on Thursday night Kent and I decided to take her into the kids care clinic, which was a big waist of time and money because they just set us up to Primary Children's where they ran blood tests and gave Maci a spinal tap and decided that she had celuitsous in her eye. So we had a 24 hour stay at primary's. This girl has spent more time in the hospital her first two months than I have in my almost 25 years.

So there is a little update on us I will try to be better and next time I will put up some pictures.

Christmas 2009

This Christmas season has been so fun for us,

Lexi has been so excited about all the lights, the

tree, all the decorations, the Holiday music, and

getting to spend so much time with family.

We spent Christmas Eve with my family as

usual. (Sorry no pictures I forgot my camera)

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner that was

so yummy, My mom always makes the best Christmas Dinner. Then all the kids did a live

nativity and it was so fun to watch the little ones try and do there parts and last long enough for

Grandpa to finish reading the story.

Then it was time to open our Christmas PJ's,
usually at this point we all go to bed. But this

year we didn't seep at my parents which was so

weird for me. But it was really nice to do

Christmas morning with just my little family.

The tradition in my family is that you get up at

5:00am and open presents, and then my dad

makes a great breakfast and we just spend the rest of the day being lazy. But the tradition in

Kent's family is totally opposite they didn't get up until eight and then they had to wait for there

dad to get up and get ready for the day.

So this year Kent put his foot down and said that were doing it his way, to tell the truth I was

kind of excited to get to sleep in. Little did I know the Hartley child in me didn't think that was a

good idea. (or maybe it was just the baby) So

Kent and I put Lexi to bed and finished getting

things ready for Christmas morning and went to

bed expecting a good night sleep. But I was too

excited to see Lexi's face the next morning, I

woke up every hour and a half ready to get up I

felt like a little kid again staying up all night on

Christmas Eve just waiting for my mom and dad to let us out to see what Santa brought, the

only difference was I was the mom begging the dad to let me go wake up the kids to go see what

Santa brought. Even though I already knew.

So finally after a LONG restless night Lexi came walking into our bedroom at 7:30 and I got

even more excited but of course we had to make it a little more difficult than that for her so I had

to pretend to be asleep and let her try to get us up, ya right that lasted all 2 min and I was up

and ready to go. It was so fun to watch my Beautiful little girl's eyes get big when she saw what

Santa brought and the joy she had playing baby's with her daddy. And seeing my wonderful

Husband playing with his little girl and the joy he got from the SMILE on her face. I think this

was the best Christmas ever and I can't wait until next year to do it all over again.

4th of July

We had so much fun this forth of July every year the Burton family has a lane parade and all the kid and grand kids get to decorate there bikes and ride up and down the lane for all the parents and grandparents to see Lexi had so much fun. We made her a cute hat and decorated her little bike (she can't really ride it so I got to push her around on it and boy was that a work out I should have just done a wagon).

Moab April 2009

Every year the last weekend of April there is a car show in Moab Utah, Kent and I went to the car show every year, in 2006 Kent purposed to me while we were down there we went one more year and had not been back, So this year that we would go down and camp, this would be the first year that Lexi went and the first time we weren't entering any cars in the show. We had a blast and are so excited to go back next year. Here are a few pictures from our trip. Lexi and Kent at the Pool.

I can't believe that it has already been a year, it seems just like yesterday that I was driving back and forth to the hospital to see Lexi. Her first year has been so fun to watch, to see her personality slowly start to show, learn how to crawl and walk, and to hear her say Mommy and Daddy for the first time. Lexi Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

So for our family trip this year we went to Southern California and went to The San Diego Zoo, Sea world, Disney Land, and California Adventure. We had so much fun, Lexi loved all the rides that she was able to go on and Kent and I really enjoyed watching her eyes light up at all the lights. Here are some pictures from our Trip. I know it has taken me a while to update but things have been so crazy. So the day after Thanksgiving we were putting up the Christmas decorations (because my husband would not let me put them up any sooner) and as i was pulling out all my things Lexi got a hold of some of my snowmen and she loved them or the way they tasted.Eating the snowman's scarf.

So this morning I was in cleaning the kitchen and Lexi was in my bedroom playing. Well it had been a while and I hadn't heard her so I went into the room and this is what I found.Lexi had found a piece of lickerish and was eating it.

Remodel

So Kent and I bought a new house in May and we just started the remodel on the upstairs so I will be adding little updates and picture so you all can see how things are going.

Lexi and Ella were born three day apart at Alta View Hospital, and both of them decided to make an early appearance so they both had an extended stay in the NIC-U together. The nurses always put them together and called them " the good girls" because they hardly ever cried. Lexi and Ella are now 8 months old and this is the first time they have seen each other out side of the hospital. Thanks Brittany and Dave for having us over for dinner it was Great. The Girls playing with each other.

I love going to Gardner Village and walking around all year long but I especially love going at Halloween time I love all the decorations. This year I have had the chance to go a few times. So Lexi really likes to stand up all the time so we got her this toy she could stand up in and turn around and play with all the toys, it's just like a walker but it dosn't move. She loves playing in it so much.

It's Football Season again

So Kent is a big football fan a really big Dallas cowboys Football Fan, and he gets a little crazy when the NFL season starts. When we found out last year that I was pregnant, all football season Kent would talk to my belly and tell the baby that they were going to be football buddies and that they would watch all the games together we even bought Lexi a little Dallas Cowboys shirt for Christmas (she wasn't even born yet) , and Wham a little football fan was born. So when football season started this year I was really excited to see how things would turn out, and just as he had planned Lexi loves to watch football with her daddy.

I Love The Water

Lexi loves the water she loves to go swimming and taking baths she is always having so much fun in the water. She loves to splash the water and giggle to her self. So I have decided that because Lexi loves the water so much that I would look into getting a membership to our local pool so that i could take her swimming. So as i was looking around I found out that at OPFC the local pool they offer infant swimming lessons starting at age 6mo I was so excited because Lexi was six months yesterday. So if any of you new mom's want to put your babies into swimming lessons Lexi's class starts on the 27 of this month.

In Memory of Taylor Brett Burton 03/01/2008-07/30/2008

Taylor is a angle that came into our lives and family for a sweet if short time. He came to this earth with at loving, strong spirit and he left a deep lasting impression on all those he met. His was a mission of love and endurance.

He was surrounded by family and left this life peacefully knowing he was deeply loved. We will see you again Taylor, but we will love and miss you until then.

This is my beautiful nephew Taylor born just 6 days before my little Lexi. I know that they were best friends in Heaven and will always be best friends forever. Even though Taylor was so young he was such a great example to me. Taylor we love you and miss you so much, but we know that you are in a better place and that you completed your mission here on earth and have gone back home to our Father in Heaven.

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, I love this country so much and I am so proud to be an AMERICAN. I would like to take a minute and thank all the men and women who have and still are protecting our wonderful country.

There are a few people I would like to personally Thank.

Lexi's cousin Taylor was born six days before she was, he had a extended stay in primary children's hospital so on April 25, 2008 Lexi, Gram, and I went up to the hospital to bust Jenny and Taylor out. Really Taylor just got released otherwise we would be behind bars. But it sounds better when you say we busted him out. Lexi just really wanted to play with her cousin. Taylor was born at St. Marks but had to be transported to Primary's to have a G-tube put in so he got to ride in this really cool ambulance.

My computer is up and running again

Hi everyone sorry it has been so long, we have just bought a new home and so our computer and internet has been down. I know that these arent the best pictures but they are all I have right now. These pictures were taken after the big storm on July 22 that came through Taylorsville and Kearns, our house took a good hit and we lost six branches out of our tree.

So as you most know Kent's first born is Tank our boxer and for about a year and a half tank has been the only child. So being the paranoid mother that i am i was really nerves about how Tank was going to react to our new little girl. He has always been really good with our nieces and our nephews and has played really well with them but they always went home and it went back to just being mom dad and tank. So when Lexi came home he wasn't quite sure about her especially when after a few hours when she didn't leave. It has been a few weeks and Tank has started to get used to her, and has went from not so sure to her protector and is always checking on her. When she starts to cry he makes sure I know right away.

So our little girl is finally home, Lexi got to come home on March 20, 2008 we are so excited to have here home with us. Tank doesn't know what to do with this little girl who has come to live at our house, but he is very protective of her already even though he isn't quite sure about her yet.

Well our little girl is here, she was a little early but we are glad to have her here with us. I went in to labor on March 6th at 6:00pm. Lexi Clair Burton was born on March 07, 2008 at 11:18am she weighed in at 5lb 12oz and was 18.5in long. Kent and I cannot believe that our beautiful little girl is here. She is definitely a daddy's girl and she has her dad wrapped around her little fingers and toes. When we are up at the hospital Kent can't keep his eyes off that little girl. She is his new love.
